PAL®, LASER, VASER® AND RENUVION® ASSISTED LIPOSCULTURE

Lipoescultura de alta definicion, definicion muscular, PAL®

Liposuction is a procedure that allows to correct the areas of the body where there is accumulated fat that does not give way with diets, but it is not used to treat obesity.

.

As the word indicates, “lipo” (fat) “suction” (extract), it is about sucking the fat located in the hips, thighs, knees, ankles, arms, abdomen, back, face, neck. We can perform liposuction as a single procedure, but it can also complement a tummy tuck or a facelift, for example.

.

We always do it in the operating room, under general anesthesia, and it consists of extracting the fat through a cannula that is connected to a vacuum machine or a special syringe, depending on the case. Liposculpture can be assisted by several technologies:

.

PAL® (Power Assisted Liposuction) : It is a device that makes very short movements of the cannula at a high speed which allows us to remove more fat in less time and with high precision with which we can perform high definition liposculpture or muscle definition.

.

Vaser® and Laser: these two technologies use energy (Vaser: ultrasonic, Laser: thermal) with high selectivity for fat cells, destroying them so that later it is easier to aspirate them. This diffusion of energy also acts on the deep layers of the skin helping to improve sagging.

.

When we finish the liposuction procedure, which can take from 30 minutes to 4 hours, we place a compression bandage or an elastic garment, depending on the operated area, so that the skin adapts to its new shape, as well as to control normal inflammation , after this type of surgery.

.

In the areas where we perform liposuction, bruises occur and the patient may feel burning and pain, for which we indicate an anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

.

The results of liposuction begin to be observed after three months; In areas with little skin elasticity, we can observe irregularities or depressions that we later correct with selective liposuction or fat injections.

.

We recommend that the patient start walking as soon as possible, but we prohibit vigorous activities for the first 4 weeks; you can return to work 2 or 3 days after the intervention and we remove the stitches between 5 and 10 days; This can vary depending on the extent of the liposuction.

.

Risks of liposuction

As long as we properly select the patient and work in a well-conditioned operating room, with a trained plastic surgery team, liposuction is a safe technique, which also leaves minimal scars located in very inconspicuous areas.

Complications could occur in cases of extraction of large amounts of fat in the same operation. Although rarely seen, fluid build-up (needs to be drained) or skin lesions may occur.

An infection or excessive fluid loss could also occur that produce a serious situation, but these risks are reduced to a minimum when liposuction is performed by an expert plastic surgeon, so we always suggest patients to choose among those of us who are members of the Venezuelan Society of Plastic Surgery (www.sociedadvenezolanacirugiaplastica.org)

The results of liposuction are very satisfactory and are maintained over time, as long as the patient eats healthy and performs physical activity; if you gain weight, your body will gain more evenly.
